Oh look, a rainbow….

The Glazer bond offer was well-received it would seem, with the Guardian’s David Conn describing it as “arguably the most dispiriting document ever produced containing the word football…”. Well David, it gets worse. Having had time to plough through the prospectus, reports this morning indicate that the club’s Carrington training complex may be sold to a Glazer holding company and leased back to United, inviting comparisons with that bastion of sound football finance, Leeds United, who were forced to sell their Thorp Arch training ground and take on a lease. Not to worry though, the prospectus is merely obliged to highlight any risks associated with the bond scheme. Mind you, in doing so indicates quite starkly that the current state of things at United might “limit our ability to sell or transfer, but not prohibit us from selling or transferring, our training ground or our stadium”, which is not an insignificant point as far as most Reds are concerned. So, in other words, Old Trafford and other land that United fans paid for can be flogged to pay off more interest on the debt but supporters should not be worried. No course not, we should probably just ignore this scaremongering and look forward to the right players coming along so the boss can spend some of the £80m he’s sat on. Anyway, enough of that, which budget airlines fly to Madrid?
