In other ‘news’, the yonners’ paper up in Oldham have again excelled themselves with a Pulitzer Prize contender if ever there was one, on the front page today.
Today’s Oldham-based misnomer, the Manchester Evening News, carries an article from the point of view of residents opposed to FC United and Manchester City Council’s plans for a community football stadium in Moston.
FC United will not be building a stadium on that site in Newton Heath. Heartbreaking as this is, the council have made reassurances that a new site in the north of the city should be made available.
The Guardian and the Manchester Evening News have ended their life-long associations with Manchester.
Guardian Media Group has sold the Evening News and associated weekly newspapers to Trinity Mirror, which will see the MEN Media office off Deansgate closed and staff moved to Trinity’s site near Chadderton, Oldham.
