Not finding Brett

Myself and Mike went for a walk round Boggart Hole Clough once, it was very good, Mike has a lot to say and most of it very very funny, anyway we decided to do it again some time so last November we met up in Harpurhey Cemetery, mainly to find the grave of Sgt Brett, the policeman killed by the mob during the infamous smashing of the van on Hyde Road, which gave rise to the Manchester Martyrs. But Mike wanted to look out a few others who lived and loved in the heartlands.

Enjoyed that well done you two. Nice to see the urge to lift heavy stones hasn’t left you Mike. Or the bottom of your shoe.

Wonderful stuff, enjoyed that.
Thoroughly enjoyed that. Look forward to the next one!
His stone was pushed over and broken in half and face down by “I suspect” the council of a safety blitz during 2010. After complaining to the chief Constable of Manchester the stone was turned back over and placed on the grave…I have wrote a short free ebook story of this police Officer, it can be downloaded for free from here (Sergeant Charles Brett.pdf) http://www.sendspace.com/file/awd6rq
