Moving the goalposts

From the official FC United website:

FC United fanzine A Fine Lung has contributed £4,300 to the Development Fund raised through sales of the fanzine and associated merchandise. The donation will contribute toward the costs of goalposts at Broadhurst Park and will help to fund main pitch posts, practice posts, nine-a-side posts on the all-weather and the refurbishment of the junior grass pitch posts.

Commenting on the donation, FC United board member Adam Brown said: “We are delighted to receive this contribution to our Development Fund from A Fine Lung fanzine. The contribution made by lots of groups of volunteers to the DF has been a mainstay of raising funds for our project and this is a fantastic contribution from A Fine Lung volunteers. We still have a long way to go, however, so hopefully this donation will also inspire others to get together and get us over the line.”

Lynette Cawthra, one of many FC United of Manchester members who have contributed to A Fine Lung since its debut in 2008, said: “This has come about thanks to the creativity, graft and love of a romantic and committed group of volunteers – and also of course to all of you who’ve ever bought a copy.”

You can help us raise money for the new ground by taking out a regular standing order for our Development Fund. In our tenth anniversary year, why not celebrate by setting one up for £10 a month?
