Looking after your bottom ends…

“No one likes us, we don’t care” – I always thought that Millwall’s favourite song was better suited to Manchester United, particularly in the late ‘90s when every away game in a small provincial town brought out the worst Little Englanders and ABUs.

Things are little different at FC United of Manchester. Sure we have plenty of detractors – but we are also making friends, sometimes in the most unlikely of places. Step forward the British Sock Fetish Council or BSFC…

The BSFC are a membership organisation that celebrates good socks, shoes, beer, music and football. In the past through the production of socks and club nights they have raised money for a testicular cancer charity, Hope not Hate, a London food bank and the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign. By the time some of their members enjoyed a few beers at the Blyth Spartans game in April, a plan was already being made drawn up on how they might help us get into our new ground.

Nothing official, just people who like what we are doing and trying to help.

So here it is, on Friday the Mostonia sock goes on sale here. A seriously fine sock from people who take their socks seriously….seriously.
