Saturday, December 7, was not only a spectacular day on the pitch, as FC United drew 4-4 in a cracking encounter against Worksop Town, it was also a day to remember off it.

The clientele at Course You Can Malcolm, FC’s club night in the afternoon, were treated to arguably the event’s best ever performance as former Stone Roses guitarist Aziz Ibrahim thrilled the throngs.

Malcolms saw its first ever standing ovation as the Paul Weller collaborator had everyone so enthralled they failed to notice the actual match had kicked off.

Further more,Aziz came back on at half time and played some of the songs he wrote with Roses frontman Ian Brown.
We caught up with the Longsight red after he finally came off stage to a hero’s reception…

Read the interview in Saturday’s official FC United programme ‘FCUM Review’, which is available for just £2 from sellers around the ground and on the programme stall. Alternatively it can be bought in digital format to read on your computer, phone or tablet here: FCUM shop
