Thanks to an influx of new volunteering blood, Malcomses is getting its acts together. Well in advance. Which is a shock to our collective system…

Therefore, we are chuffed to announce that Aziz Ibrahim has agreed to play the FC United unique club night in the afternoon at Gigg Lane in December.

Longsight born Aziz is known for his work with Paul Weller, Simply Red, The Stone Roses and notably co-wrote ‘My Star’ with Ian Brown which featured on his first solo album, Unfinished Monkey Business, peaking at number 5 on the UK singles chart.

He recently released the album ‘Rusholme Rock’, available on iTunes, following up his 2001 album ‘Lahore to Longsight’. Having supported Marillion on tour earlier this year, Aziz and percussion virtuoso Dalbir Singh played a triumphant hometown gig at the Roadhouse on Newton Street over the summer.

Aziz will bring his Asian blues and play before FC United of Manchester’s home game against Worksop Town on Saturday 7th December. Entrance, as ever, via the turnstiles to the Manchester Road End of the ground.

If you need a music fix before then, on Friday 1st November there is a free event at The Ducie Bridge on Corporation Street from 8pm featuring The Score, Feed The Kid and Ruby Tuesday. There will be some fundraising on the night, with proceeds going towards FC United’s development fund.
