Ex-City starlet joins United

Karl Marginson has added to FC United’s squad with the signing of former Wrexham and City midfielder Angelos Tsiaklis.

We think the picture on the left is him. We cannot be 100 per cent sure though, due to the pot-luckness involved in a google image search, so apologies if we have just accused another innocent footballer of once playing for the blues.

Margy has also brought in a defender from Salford to help fill the gap left by departing Adam Tong and his size 19s.

Karl told AFL: “Angelos spent his youth at City before moving on to Wrexham, where he did well early on. He’s an energetic midfielder who never seems to stop running.

“His signing will give us that extra competition in midfield and any additions always boost a squad at this time of the season.

“We’re waiting for international clearance for him to play for us because Wrexham play in Wales, as if you didn’t know. So he will probably not be featuring on Wednesday night against Kendal.

“We have also brought in a defender in the shape of Mark Ayres. He’s 22 or 24 I’m not sure, but what I do know is that he is very steady and seldom lets you down. I’ve known him a while and he is a player you can rely on.
“He’s very different to Tongy, who isn’t? But, with Rob Nugent getting fit again, it gives us good options at the back alongside David.”

FC play Kendal at Gigg Lane on Wednesday night, kick off is 7.45pm and admission on the gate is £7.50 adults, £5 over-60s and just £2 for kids. Less than a tenner for dad and lad.
