Course You Can Malcolm goes tinsel mad

Submitted by on December 14, 2012 – 9:31 amNo Comment

The Malcolmses crew have been getting giddily festive. There are rumours that reindeer are bringing the beer and there are definitely home-baked mince pies and other Christmas sweet treats on offer.   For those of you who are sweet enough already, arf,  there’s also tater ash, cheese pies and home-made veggie delicacies.

Saturday’s band is Les Malheureux.  A guide to the correct pronunciation of their name will be handed out at the door.  It says on their Web site that they are ‘two Manchester-based writers – David Gaffney and Sarah-Clare Conlon – who combine short-short story-telling with original music and visual presentations for your delight and delectation’.  That “short-short” bit is particularly apt for CYCM where the average height of the Oddies is 4 foot 11.

Saturday’s game is being sponsored in memory of Anthony Edwards, who died in the summer. Anthony was a great tea drinker and Course You Can Malcolm will be serving two special brews in his honour – a Russian Caravan [of Love] tea and a good strong traditional Assam. Come and raise a mug in tribute to a good man. There’s also normal tea as usual, and as it’s Grantham we’re playing we’ll honour Anthony’s well-placed distrust of Thatcher by chaining the milk to the table.

Course You Can Malcolm opens at 12 – one member one guest one Santa.

Yours fraternally and sororially,

The Oddies xx
