FC make it six from two…

FC United took apart Nantwich to complete a good week in which they also beat Durham. Two away wins in were much-needed after a poor run of games and a handful of postponed ones because of bad weather.

Agains a backdrop of much green and gold and a thick blanket of fog which looked as though it’d bring the game to an early close, United impressed at long last, playing football reminiscent of the FC Cup run earlier in the season. It was a welcome change from the sub-pub football we’ve been subjected to since going out at Northwich.

A hat-trick from Kyle Wilson, marking a welcome return from Macclesfield, and goals from Ben Deegan, Si Carden and Jerome Wright has Reds now looking at the Northern Premier table and saying things like “nine games in hand, Wilson and Deegan look good, we can still go up automatically but we’ll be happy with the play-offs”.

United will look to make it nine points from nine when they play Worksop at Gigg Lane, 3pm next Saturday. MUFC have a weekend off so if anyone fancies continuing the G&G protests…
