Gin and chronic…
The excellent MaD Theatre Company are performing their latest play Gin and Chronic Arthritis this week at the Lass O’Gowrie (off Oxford Road, Manchester city centre) and the Simpson Hall in Moston.
The Lass gig is on Thursday, July 12, and admission on the door is £8. The Simpson Hall performance is on Friday, July 13 and is £5 on the door. Here is a synopsis of the play and a little bit about MaD:
Gin and Chronic Arthritis focuses on the complicated romances in the Pickles family home, all triggered when Wheelchair Barry takes Nanna Pickles on a date to a psychic supper and is contacted by a lover from long ago, making Wheelchair Barry jealous of the fella from the other side.
Fresh from their TV debut on Channel 4’s Secret Millionaire, MaD Theatre Company will be taking Manchester back to the 60s this Summer. After sell out performances at The Met, Bury, Chorlton Arts Festival and The Three Minute Theatre this is MaD’s first appearance at Greater Manchester Fringe. All of this before touring the play nationally next year.

They have been producing work in and around Greater Manchester for over 12 years and were recently awarded £10,000 on The Secret Millionaire which has been put towards a professional lighting rig and an all-expenses paid trip to London for the whole company.
