FC United members have the chance to make a number of decisions on the cosmetics of the proposed Ten Acres Lane football ground in Newton Heath.

A club spokesman said: “The Ten Acres Lane Design Team would like your input to the next stage of the design process.

“Members’ views have shaped the design of our proposed ground development at Ten Acres Lane and we would now like you to give us your views on internal and external finishes.

“Over the next seven days members can access the survey on the members’ blog. If you do not have your log in details then please email office@fc-utd.co.uk.

“Further consultations will take place in the coming months including a presentation at the General Meeting on April 7th.”

A 3D ‘fly-through’ of the ground can be seen by visiting:

You will see that railway sleepers are being used as cladding rather than the original idea of funny plastic sheets. A vast improvement and proof that supporters can influence design issues. We just need to convince the powers that be there’s room for a chimney…

Meanwhile, FC United beat Burscough 3-1 at Gigg Lane on Saturday thanks to goals from Michael Norton, Jerome Wright and Carlos Roca. Report here:

A Fine Lung sold well and the few remaining copies will be on sale again at the next home game against Mickleover Sports on March 5th. If you can’t wait that long, then contact the Working Class Movement Library, before the Tories shut it down, at 51 Crescent, Salford, M5 4WX, or call 0161 736 3601 and ask for Lynette. We may sell a few at the next couple of away games too, so look out for one of our ugly get sellers shouting bollocks.
