Love was when I loved you

Reports are coming in of a ‘just in the nick of time’ meeting in which passengers of a ship (which sailed out of Southampton some twenty three years ago, promptly throwing its bloated captain overboard) are discussing the best way to avert what some doom-mongers see as impending disaster.

After dismissing one radical suggestion of refusing to stay on board should the ship be sailed towards iceberg-filled waters, passengers put forward ideas such as throwing salt from the deck and even keeping faith in the current captain’s trusty hairdryer to melt any potential icy dangers.

Meanwhile, a lifeboat which was cut adrift some years ago was last seen cutting through the ice of the Rochdale Canal as it headed south to negotiate its three-river homecoming journey.
