Former FC United player Rob Nugent, who played from the reds’ very first game at Leigh in 2005 until last season, has been elected to the club board.

Members voted the ex-centre half onto the decision making panel at the club’s annual general meeting. Other board members retaining their places were Adam Brown, Alan Hargrave, Martin Morris, Mike Sherrard and Alison Watt.

From the club’s website (fc-utd.co.uk):

The FC United Annual General Meeting was held at The Manchester College, Openshaw Campus on Sunday 31st October 2010. The members heard presentations on the club’s current financial position and the impressive performance both on and of the pitch.

The board thanked all those who had contributed to the club’s success in particular all the work undertaken by supporters who had volunteered their services during the year.

FC United would also like to thank all the volunteers who helped out on Sunday and who contributed to the smooth running of the AGM.

Minutes of the meeting will shortly be available on the secure members’ area of the website.

There were six vacancies for the board and the votes cast were as follows:

Adam Brown 99%
Alan Hargrave 96%
Alison Watt 92%
Martin Morris 93%
Mike Sherrard 95%
Rob Nugent 97%

As there were only six candidates for six places all the board members above were elected.

Congratulations to new board member Rob Nugent.
