After some shocking performances and lots of promises that the players have been reminded of the great privilege it is to play for the club, FC United of Manchester put on an impressive display and beat Hucknall at Gigg Lane on Saturday.

The win keeps alive a very faint hope that United can make the play-offs, but perhaps more importantly it reminded everyone who saw it that Margy’s team can play a bit, which is something which has been desperately lacking for several weeks.

A full match report will appear on the club’s official site – www.fc-utd.co.uk – on Monday. If you missed the game then suffice to say that Margy and Roy’s bollocking of the team seemed to have done the trick, which is the only thing that matters.

However, a sterner test will come on Wednesday night when the Northern Premier League’s pantomime villain, Bradford Park Avenue, complete with Malcolm Allison caricature Chairman, come to Gigg Lane.
