As I sat parked up, I had flash backs to when I entered his house in the days after his death. His closest friends, inseparable from childhood, were unable to re-enter after they had been the ones to find him upstairs. Unable to believe he was dead, his best friend had attempted to hold him, screaming at him to ‘wake up’. On the wall opposite, he had written in black marker pen ‘I’M SORRY!’

The ‘baddies’ have gone and we can finally sing the chorus of Dirty Old Town and truly mean it, can’t we? Answering those questions won’t be easy, I suspect – digging in the grave of the conniving past, it seems this is all far from over and every month, the inquisitive inspecting shovel clangs onto and exhumes another devious relic buried deeper than the one before it.

He’ll be able to spend his Saturday afternoons with like-minded people. He will hopefully make new friends, and make memories in his teenage years that will be remembered forever. For someone who hasn’t had the best start in life, that is quite beautiful when you think about it.
